Impegnatissimo con tutti i suoi progetti, Tony Harnell è riuscito ugualmente a ritagliarci qualche minuto per rispondere ad alcune domande riguardanti i suoi TNT e al suo nuovo progetto, STARBREAKER.

Ciao Tony, how're you doing? What are you up to at the moment?
Promoting Starbreaker and recording the new TNT album!!

Let's start with TNT! ..."My Religion" has 'legally' joined my personal 2004 top list, I think it's one of your best album ever ... are you satisfied with the outcome?
Yes of course. It got a great response from the fans and it put us back in their hearts I think:) We are very proud of it.

"Give me A Sign" is the track I like most, what does it talk about?
Well, I guess redemption or forgiveness would be the best way to describe it. But I like people to find their own meanings.

In "Song 4 Dianne" we noted there's your wife on vocals, how did this collaboration originate and how has it been?
It was so great. The song was written for her mother who passed away right before we recorded the song and she was so happy she could be at the studio to sing on it. She also plays the recorder on the song which is a type of flute.

Have you ever thought about recording a whole album with her?
yes and we probably will do that.

Within 2005 both your solo album and the TNT new one should see the light, what can we expect from these releases?
TNT will be released in 2005, the solo album, we will have to wait and see. The TNT album is coming along nicely. It is really going to be a great album with really strong songwriting.

I know you live in the US, but you had to move to Norway to record this album. How has it been to come back to Europe? Which impressions you had?
No, I never lived in Norway. I just spent a lot of time there. Weeks at a time recording, but not living. I love Europe though and enjoy spending time there. It's me second home for sure and I will probably live there someday.

Which are the pro and cons of the Norse people? Do you prefer USA or Norway?
I prefer wherever home is. Right now it's in the U.S. Norway is great mostly. I am not a fan of the food there, but otherwise it;s cool. the summers are beautiful there.

Let's talk again about music, did you manage to get a record deal for WestWorld? When will we be able to listen to something new?
No, not a deal I was happy with. So for now Westworld is on hold until further notice.

A short time ago has been released the Strabreaker album, how did you get involved in this project?
Well it is a band now and I got involved with it through the label Frontiers. it was going to be a project with me and it ended up being this really big thing. I call it a beautiful accident.

How did you manage to record this album since you all live in a different country? is this the power of Internet?
Internet! You got it. MP3's and emails. Not bad eh?

What can you tell me regarding the "Lies" video?
Well it was recorded in about three hours and I think it's a cool video that reflects the song very well.

Among your side projects there has been the Morning Wood with Al Pitrelli, Chuck Bonfonte & Danny Mirada, can you tell us want went wrong, why didn't it continue?
Nothing went wrong, everyone is busy with other things so we never continued it. I may do another acoustic album in the near future, we'll see.

Among your influences you mention the Queen, what do you think about their reunion without Freddy Mercury on vocals?
I think it's a bit weird, but I think it would be ok if they had me singing:)

Ok Tony, It's time for greetings, I hope to see you soon in Italy...
Same here! I look forward to it!! I love the Italian fans. Ciao!
